My Story:
I was never a healthy eater but was considered thin. I was having some mental health issues and was put on medication. I gained 55 pounds over night. Everything got harder. Then surprise "your pregnant" at 39. I started paying attention to nutrition. I actually lost weight being pregnant because I was eating all the food groups. Kayden was born 3 months before my 40th birthday and I was alone! Carrie and I went to school together and followed her journey on Facebook. Covid happened life got real. I took care of my then 80 year old dad and 5 year old son. I knew I had to stay healthy for them. My mom got sick with throat cancer. She had a feeding tube, part of her tongue was removed and rebuilt with a skin graft. Her only concern was she was gaining weight on the feeding tube! I couldn't believe she cared about a number on the scale that much. I realized my own disordered eating; I ate one meal a day... a healthy meal. My son asked me why he had to have brainfood in the morning before school and i could have an xL coffee? That hit me. What was I teaching him? Whey was his food important and mine was not? I booked a call in 2022.
Why I am passionate about helping others:
There is so much misinformation out there. People are getting sicker, children are getting sicker. Doctors are pharmaceutical pushers and really not knowledgable enough to help. I just want people to live a healthy happy life.
My favorite mindset tip:
Circle of control
My favorite nutrition tip:
Never eat a carb alone. Pair protein, fat, and carbs together every 3 hours. It keeps your blood sugar steady, which means fewer cravings, no afternoon crash, and energy that lasts. Fuel your body; don't deprive it.
My favorite sustainability tip:
Build systems for when life gets messy, not just for when it's easy. When you prepare for your hard days, you don't need willpower. That's what makes this a lifestyle instead of another diet.
